GRE - Graduate Record Examination
The Graduate Program in Psychiatry at the Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP), is taking part in the USP-FAPESP agreement for adopting the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) as a requirement for the selection of a proportion of its new students. By this agreement promoted by FAPESP, 30 scholarships will be granted to Brazilian and International students joining the direct Doctorate course within one of the several selected programs across the different USP centers.
About our Program
The Graduate Program in Psychiatry at FMUSP targets at training graduate students in research and teaching. The program focuses on scientific investigations using rigorous methodology and state-of-the art technical and laboratorial resources, aiming to produce novel knowledge across several thematic areas.
Our main research fields are related to investigations on etiology, clinical presentation, outcome and treatment of psychiatric disorders. A large number of studies carried out in our Program have a strong innovation component , translating laboratorial findings to the clinical arena. Thus, our program is structured with guidelines, investigation activities, research lines and projects aiming at training Masters and Doctors in high levels of excellence and within international standards. We aim to have the same standards of major international research centers with witch we have strong collaborations, including the Universities of Harvard, Yale, Toronto, Duke and the Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden).

The selection of candidates will be based on their best Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, as follows:
- 155 (Verbal Reasoning)
- 158 (Quantitative Reasoning)
- 4,0 (Analytical Writing)
Please note:
To assure that your test results will be valid for the USP/FAPESP agreement, you must mention the specific code GRE DI 2348. The deadline for taking the test is October 15th, 2017. Candidates can also submit the results of their GRE test undergone between January 1st and August 17th, 2017. In those cases, you should send your score and the name of the Graduate Program you wish to enroll in to the supervising commission at the following address: prpg-gre@usp.br, until 31st October, 2017.
